Le sigh, another rainy day. We cannot complain too much as our bad weather days have been limited, but nonetheless, they seem to occur when we are in locales that are, shall we say, rural. This limits our options in terms of sightseeing or village wandering (the most significant pastime in these areas).
We are down to our last two weeks and both of us feeling a little eager to return to our roots-even though we really do not have any right now. But for us, this means the kids, and all other things familiar. We have enjoyed ourselves, tired out ourselves and sometimes frustrated ourselves (or each other….), but on days like this when there is time for reflection, we think of home and those we love.
Since selling our house in Naperville at the end of April, we have been somewhat transient, and while refreshing in the beginning, we are now ready to settle down once again, adopt a new pet, and move on to the next phase. This year has been one of great transition, with selling our business, our house and losing our beloved dachshund, Sophie. Ashley is engaged, Christopher is moving on through college-everyone is growing up and establishing their lives. Now it is time for us again as well.
The most exciting thing we have planned today is our pedicures this evening, and. . .thinking about the future.
